Memorial Day weekend is here - and summer is just around the corner! Student Ministries at CPC North has lots planned so check it out! Use the links below to jump to information about a specific ministry.

CPC North is starting The Edge (a ministry for 5-6th grade students) during the 9:15 am service on June 10 - Graduation Sunday. McKenna Mitchell, one of the fantastic two-year interns for CPC Student Ministries, will be leading this ministry over the next year with the guidance of Sandy Hughes, CPC's Pastor of Students and Children.

FUEL  meets during the 11am service on Sunday, May 27.  Middle school students (6-8th grade) should remain with their parents in the auditorium for worship until they are dismissed to the Student Ministries Room after announcements.  Join us for Bible teaching, fun, and more.

Note: CPC North does not offer Middle School ministry during the 9:15am service. Students are welcome to join their parents in the auditorium OR speak with Kevin about serving in another ministry during the 9:15am service.

Jr. High River Rafting Trip!

Want to do something adventurous this summer? Something exciting, fun, and maybe dangerous? CPCN Jr. High is headed to the American River for an overnight River Rafting Trip on July 12-13. This is a combined event with the Foster City campus and will be a blast! Sign up soon!  Download a signup form or grab one on Sunday at CPC North and turn it in as soon as possible.

Wednesday Nights - BREAK

High School Ministry has officially come to a close for the school year. We've had some great times on Wednesday nights, singing together, sharing our lives in small groups, learning about the Bible and Jesus' Resurrection, and more. Wednesday night meetings will resume on June 13, and the Giants vs. Astros game!

 

Summer Kick-off at the Giants' Game!

Join us for our first Wednesday Night of the summer, June 13, as CPC North High Schoolers head to the Giants' vs. Astros game. $10 a ticket.  We'll meet around 6pm (location to be announced) and be back around 10pm. Don't miss this fun event- and the chance to meet some new people including CPC North's Summer Intern! Download a permission slip or pick one up from Kevin or on Sunday. These spots are going fast!

 

HS Houseboats Summer Camp!

CPC North and CPC Foster City are joining forces as we head out to Lake Shasta for Houseboat Summer Camp! There is limited space for this trip (first come, first served) so sign up as soon as possible. Registration forms are available in the CPC North lobby and room 508/9.

Here are the important details:

• June 24-27 (Sunday - Wednesday)
• Houseboat camp on Lake Shasta
• $300 (partial scholarships available, talk with Kevin)
• Sign-up deadline: June 10.

Exciting things are happening in Student Ministries at CPC North over the next few weeks.

First, the CPC North staff recently moved to new offices in San Bruno at 1200 Bayhill Dr. Ste #123. If you're in the area during business hours, stop by to say hello!

Wednesday Nights

High School Ministry continues to meet from 7-9pm on on Wednesday nights at the CPC North campus. We had a great time last night, learning from Jon Tsang about the importance of Jesus' death in the Gospel of Mark, singing together, sharing our lives in small groups, and more. Join us next week (May 16) as we finish out our series in Mark with Jesus' Resurrection and celebrate what God has done in our lives this past year!

Summer is almost here!

Hi CPC North students and families,

Here's what is going on with Student Ministries this week:

For Middle School  (6-8th grade) -  

This Sunday is FAMILY WORSHIP. FUEL will not meet this Sunday, May 6.  Middle school students should remain with their parents in the auditorium. Join us next week during the 11am service as we continue our series in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 15. 

Please note: CPC North does not offer Middle School ministry during the 9:15am service. Students are welcome to join their parents in the auditorium OR speak with Kevin about serving in another ministry during the 9:15am service (in Children's ministry, the welcome or hospitality teams and more).

Jr. High River Rafting Trip!

Want to do something adventurous this summer? Something exciting, fun, and maybe dangerous? CPCN Jr. High is headed to the American River for an overnight River Rafting Trip on July 12-13. For High School (9th-12th grade)-  

Friday Night Fun, 7-9:30pm
(May 4, tomorrow night!)

The students have spoken: Games night instead of the Avengers movie. Join us tomorrow at Kevin's apartment (in downtown Millbrae) from 7-9:30pm for fun, games, time with friends and a few snacks too.  If you have a favorite card game or board game, bring it with you! If you need Kevin's address and phone, send him an e-mail or facebook message.

Wednesday Nights

High School Ministry continues to meet from 7-9pm on on Wednesday nights at the CPC North campus. We had a great time last night, playing 'human tic-tac-toe,' singing together, sharing our lives in small groups, studying the Gospel of Mark, and  closing the night with a few rounds of 'sardines.' Looking forward to next week (May 9) with you all!

Student Ministry Update - April 12

Hi CPC North students and families,

Jesus is Risen!  I love Easter and was so glad to share this Resurrection Sunday with you all. I pray Jesus continues to show you how his death and resurrection have changed everything. Let us be people who live out of the truth that sin and death are not the end - for with Jesus we have victory over sin and eternal life with Him.

Here's what is going on with Student Ministries this week:

For Middle School  (6-8th grade) -  

FUEL  meets during the 11am service this Sunday, April 15.  Middle school students should remain with their parents in the auditorium until they are dismissed to FUEL. We will continue our series in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 14. This week, we'll be talking about "Tackling Tough Times - Jesus' Way." Join us!

Please note,  CPC North recently began a second service at 9:15am.  FUEL will meet during the 11am service only. Middle School students who attend the 9:15am service should remain with their parents in the auditorium OR speak with Kevin about serving in another ministry during the 9:15am service (in Children's ministry, the welcome or hospitality teams and more).

 

For High School (9th-12th grade)-  

High School  - SPRING BREAK

High School Ministry continues to meet from 7-9pm on on Wednesday nights at the CPC North campus. We had a great time together last night, sharing stories about Spring Break, singing together, studying the Gospel of Mark, and playing two amazing rounds of "Sardines" - one person hides and the others try to find and hide with them. Looking forward to next week (April 18) with you all!

Spring Break and Easter are Here!

Hi CPC North students and families!

Spring is here and Easter Sunday is not far behind (April 8). This season of new life and growth is a powerful reminder Christ Jesus' new life after His resurrection and our new life as His disciples.  As we head toward Easter and are reminded of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, I pray that the Holy Spirit breathes new hope, joy, and resolve to follow our Friend and King however He leads.

LOVE WORKS - Update

CPC North Student Ministry's project of repainting two LARGE walls of the San Bruno Memorial Rec Center Gym was a great success!  There were definitely times and situations where it looked like we would not finish the project before the deadline. But God is faithful and provides what is needed to accomplish His plans and purposes!

Thank you, thank you thank you for all of your time, support, and prayers.  To the Middle School and High School students and families who served on Saturday and/or Sunday, thank you so much for joining us. You all played an important part in showing Jesus' love to the City of San Bruno. Here are a few 'before and after' photos to show you how things turned out.

For Middle School  (6-8th grade) -  

FUEL  meets this Sunday, April 1st - Palm Sunday!  Middle school students should remain with their parents in the auditorium until they are dismissed to FUEL. We will continue our series in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 14, as we head toward Easter with Jesus' death and resurrection.

Please note,  CPC North is starting a second service at 9:15am beginning on Easter Sunday. For Easter Sunday and all following Sundays, FUEL will meet during the 11am service unless it is Family Worship Sunday.

 

For High School (9th-12th grade)-  

High School  - SPRING BREAK

There will be no High School group next Wednesday (April 4) because most High Schools are on Spring Break.  Not to worry, though. Kevin will be around and available.

• Keep an eye on Facebook next week because Kevin might put together a few random events.
• If you want to (or are simply bored and tired of sitting at home) contact Kevin to hang out over lunch, froyo, dinner, or something. He'd love to spend time with you.

Love Works! and April Events

Hi friends and families at CPC North!

Spring is here and the signs of new life are all around us.  With that, here's what CPC Student Ministries life looks like for the next few weeks.

LOVE WORKS - is THIS WEEKEND (March 24-25)!

Student Ministries at CPC North is painting the inside of San Bruno Memorial Gym (Recreation Center). It is not to late to show up and join us (no sign-ups are needed at this time.) We will be at the San Bruno Memorial Gym during the following times:

This Saturday from 10:30am to 5:00pm.
This Sunday from 9:00am to 4pm.

The San Bruno Memorial Gym is located on City Park Way (near the intersection of Crystal Springs Rd and Oak Ave) in San Bruno, CA.

Join us if and when you can. We will use all the help we can get!  For more info, contact Kevin at kkaub-at-cpcfc.org

 

For Middle School  (6-8th grade) -

In case you haven't heard, here's some important information about the exciting changes taking place at CPC North! 

CPC North is Growing!
After much prayer, thought, and discussion, God has lead the Elders and CPC Staff to start a second service at the CPC North campus on Easter Sunday. Beginning on Easter Sunday (April 8th), CPC North will hold services at 9:15am and 11am. This is an exciting time for us as a church and for Student Ministries as well.  More details will be announced this Sunday. Come hear where God is leading us and the new opportunities you all have to be active players in God's ever-expanding Kingdom!

What does this mean for Student Ministries?
Middle School and High School  ministries will remain unchanged initially. Middle school FUEL will meet Sundays during the 11am service (only). High School will remain on Wednesday nights from 7-9pm. Pray that Jesus would continue to raise up leaders for Student Ministries as we make this transition.

Love Works, Spring Break, and two Sunday Services at CPC North!

Hi friends and families at CPC North!

Here's what is going on for Student Ministries for CPC North.

LOVE WORKS - Sign-up Now! March 24-25. 

Student Ministries at CPC North will be painting the inside of San Bruno Memorial Gym (Recreation Center).  We hope that all 6-12 grade students and their families would be able to serve alongside each other as we undertake this project to share Jesus' love with the San Bruno Community. Sign up NOW at the CPC Love Works website. If you are not available to serve during Love Works weekend, we could use your help with borrowing equipment you might have around your home. If you can lend us any of the following equipment for March 24-25, please contact Kevin at kkaub-at-cpcfc.org

• Step stools
• Ladders (5-8 ft preferred)
• Drop cloths or paint tarps (to protect the floor as we paint)

 

For Middle School  (6-8th grade) -  

FUEL  meets this Sunday, March 11.  Middle school students should remain with their parents in the auditorium until Kevin dismisses them to FUEL. We will continue our series in the Gospel of Mark, chapter 12, as we head toward Easter with Jesus' death and resurrection.

 

For High School (9th-12th grade)-  

High School Group meets next Wednesday, March 14, at the CPC North campus in room 508/509 (up the ramp from the auditorium). Join us and have some fun, sing a few songs, and dive into the Gospel of Mark. We'll be digging into Mark 11, take a look before you come!

 

SPRING BREAK Mission Trip (April 3-5, $135, High School only)
High School Ministry for both CPC campuses will be joining forces to serve people both globally and locally this spring break. We'll be hosting the 30 Hour Famine (a 30-hour overnight fast) project at the Foster City Campus all day Tuesday through Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning we will "Break-Fast" together and head into the Tenderloin district of San Francisco for a day and night of ministry to the homeless and inner city. We'll finish by Thursday at 12noon.

Student Ministry Update, March 2!

Hi friends and families at CPC North!

Louisville, KY is a beautiful city! Many of the CPC Student Ministry staff are in KY this weekend for the Simply Youth Ministry conference. We are excited for growing together as a team, learning more about healthy and innovative ministry approaches, and refreshing our souls with God's Word, musical worship and meeting up with old friends.

So here's what is going on for Student Ministries for CPC North in the very near future.

LOVE WORKS - Sign-up Now! March 24-25.

We'll be hosting the 30 Hour Famine (a 30-hour overnight fast) project at the Foster City Campus all day Tuesday through Wednesday morning. Wednesday morning we will "Break-Fast" together and head into the Tenderloin district of San Francisco for a day and night of ministry to the homeless and inner city. We'll finish by Thursday at 12noon.

Love Works and Other Updates!

Hi friends of CPC North Student Ministries!

Here's what's happening in the near future:

LOVE WORKS - returns to both CPC campuses on March 24-25. 

Student Ministries at CPC North is hosting a large-scale, age-appropriate community service project for all 6-12 grade students and their families.  Our hope is that students would serve together WITH their families for Love Works. Sign-ups for this project and others will begin Sunday, February 26!

Our project will be cleaning and painting the San Bruno Memorial Gym in San Bruno City Park. More details to come.

 

For Middle School  (6-8th grade) -  

FUEL  meets this Sunday, February 26.  Hopefully you all enjoyed our guest leaders, Ryan and Darcie, last week. So be sure to join us this week. Have some fun, make a friend, and grow with Jesus. We're back in the Gospel of Mark and Jesus does some interesting things, like horse riding, getting angry in church, and cursing a fig tree (11:1-26).  Students-  join you families in the auditorium for worship, and meet Kevin in the lobby when you are dismissed after the announcements.

 

For High School (9th-12th grade)-  

High School Group meets next Wednesday, February 29 (Leap Day!), at the CPC North campus in room 508/509 (up the ramp from the auditorium). Join us and have some fun, sing a few songs, and dive into the Gospel of Mark. We'll be digging into Mark 9, take a look before you come!

 

Friday Night Fun (for High School students) is happening again tomorrow night, February 24,  from 7-10pm at Kevin's apartment in Millbrae. Come hang out, play games, have dessert, and maybe watch a few episodes of the sit-com "The Big Bang Theory." Tell Kevin if you are coming, so he can get you his phone number (so you can call to be let into the building).

 

High School Winter Camp UPDATE!
Thanks for all of your prayers as we were in Tahoe, we had an amazing weekend at Zephyr Point. We only wish more of you could have joined us. Between games of Catchphrase, Monopoly Deal, and "Do you like your neighbor?" there were high-speed sledding adventures, a few snowball battles, some great times of sharing, and needed time away with Jesus.  For photos, see the CPCN High School Facebook group. (There's more to come, including one of the epic sledding runs with Jonathan Tsang and Alec Krichbaum!) Don't forget - Jesus is here with us every moment of the day, interacting with our 'timelines' for His glory and our good.
